The answer to all our problems...

In the last few days, I have seen many reassuring statements to the public of the steps various organizations are taking in regard to the COVID-19 pandemic. I am thankful they are taking precautionary steps (just as we are in following the CDC recommendations); however, I have yet to see one of these statements which offers the solution to our problems. Given that fact, please allow me to shed some light on this situation from 2 Chronicles 7:13-14.

Our world has recently experienced severe drought conditions in Australia and Africa. There are currently hundreds of billions of locusts tearing through East Africa, destroying crops and livelihoods. Now, this pestilence (a fatal pandemic disease known as COVID-19) is spreading across our globe. There is one cure for all of these world problems. Turn from our wicked ways and return to God. He gave us that instruction long ago, and He is always faithful. He who hangs the stars where He chooses, He who created and sustains this universe, He is the only real answer for all we face.

So, while we take sensible precautions to prevent the spread of this virus, let us hit our knees in prayer to the One who controls our future. Let us repent for our own sins, the sins of our nation, and the sins of our world, which wage war against God’s commands. Let us beg Him to come back into all we kicked Him out of … our classrooms, our businesses, our communities, our governments, and our hearts. He is faithful to forgive and has promised to heal our land. He is simply waiting on our hearts to return to Him.
